Brief on Alumni

The Agape Bible College is a foremost graduate theological institute established more than twenty years ago to give sound theological education to the whole man. The College believes that every serious Christian needs quality bible college training in order to function effectively for Christ in this end time. The College has trained and graduated men and women who today are impacting society and Christendom in many diverse and positive ways. Some of them are captains of industry, ministers of the gospel, professionals in different fields, housewives, artisans, lecturers in tertiary institutions and so on. What all these people have in common is the great impact Agape Bible College has had on their lives, equipping them to make a difference in their various fields of endeavour. They have come together to form the Agape Bible College Alumni Association in order to give back to the society and the illustrious institution that trained them so well. As a group, they are determined to synergistically uplift and positively impact their environment.

The word of the Lord to the Agape Bible College Alumni Association through Bishop Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu at the Amazing Love Assembly Annual Harvest and Thanksgiving of 2015 was one factor that has propelled us to where we are today:

It is gratifying that this group is coming out for the first time today. It is a joy to see them heed the warnings of many years ago. They have risen, heeding the words of the Principal and our brother, late Prof. Ogbu Kalu reminding us that no one but the graduates of ABC can, by their conduct, commitment and activity, make sure that the fire put in your hand does not die or quench with you. He spoke to you from Habakkuk 2:2 and warned, “Do not come before the Lord’s Thanksgiving next year on the same platform.” He had told you then, instead of waiting for the notables to come forth, anyone of you who has the mind can come and just form a group of three or four. God will lead you.

He gave you 2 Chronicles 16:9.  Let us hope that this year, this new league, you will form a half-yearly periodical showcasing the school graduates, their various areas of endeavour in the world and how they are projecting the Kingdom of Christ.

Already, some of you are available to teach in the School. You could sincerely take the School and turn it around (the students, staff intake), without fear of changing the founding principles of its founder. He speaks to you from Isaiah 6:8.

With this response today, let it bear the fruit of righteousness and remember what He told you: you can start a half-yearly periodical showcasing the activities of the graduates of the school.

It is with this goal in mind that we have published the maiden edition of the alumni magazine  – The Lamp.  This first edition was devoted to a discourse with our Principal, Reverend (Dr.) Amaechi Nwachukwu, who poured his life into us as he took great pains to give us all-round theological education. There were also testimonies and reminiscences of our days in the College, showing how the input of our lecturers and the conducive environment moulded and shaped our lives.

The Association is committed to organising an Annual Alumni Lecture Series where professors and experts in various fields are invited to educate us in different and diverse areas of life. The first lecture in this series was given by Venerable Professor Chinedu Nebo, an erudite scholar, minister of the gospel and former Minister of Power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
